The Top 10 Bb. Pilipinas 2018 National Costumes (and 10 more we loved)

The National Costume Competition took place in Kia TheatreCubao, Quezon City last March 3, as part of the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Fashion Show. The two-hour spectacle was preceded by a 30-minute Jag Fashion Show, where the 40 delegates paraded in sexy denim attire.

At the end of the show, 10 costumes were judged as the best. The winner will be determined by the voting public and announced during the live pageant. The Top 10 are:

Ranking the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Talent Presentations

The Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Talent Competition took place at the Farmers Plaza Activity Center on February 10.

 The event was hosted by the two incumbent titleholders of Aussie roots:  Chanel Olive Thomas (Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2017) and Elizabeth Clenci (Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International 2017). Providing bonus entertainment was Pinoy Boyband Superstar finalist Marcus Peterson, who serenaded the ladies with My Girl. The non-participating binibinis were at the audience.

15 candidates participated in this optional category, the winner of which will be given a special award on pageant night. As per tradition, this pocket contest doesn’t constitute a huge percentage in the overall score. However, it does guarantee precious brownie points to whoever will make a good impression.

Ever Bilena launched as Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Official Make-Up Sponsor

The Bb. Pilipinas 2018 candidates spent the afternoon in Valley Golf, Antipolo, Rizal for the grand reveal of Ever Bilena as this year’s official make-up sponsor. The ladies arrived clad in identical pink tank tops and minimal make-up for the midday affair, which included a make-up tutorial and a luncheon with Ever Bilena executives.

Bb. Pilipinas 2018: The Initial Round-Up

As we await the fate of Katarina Rodriguez, the last of the 2017 Bb. Pilipinas queens to compete on the world stage, we now have the full list of official candidates who will try to make the country proud this year. The local pageant is slated to take place on March 18, 2018, an earlier date than usual, with six (6) crowns up for grabs.

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa is Miss Universe 2017!

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa lived up to her pre-pageant hype and captured the Rainbow Nation’s first Miss Universe title in 39 years. The 22-year-old business graduate edged out 91 other beauties in the 66th edition of the pageant held in AXIS Theatre, Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is now her country’s second Miss Universe titleholder after Margaret Gardiner in 1978.

Pageant Geeks’ Official Miss Universe 2017 Picks

The introduction of the new regional selection process was definitely met with mixed reactions. For one, why crowd Asia, Africa, and Oceania in one group?! But choices had to be made and sentimental favorites had to be sacrificed.

So, after much discussion, we’ve decided to root for the following:

AMERICAS – Colombia, Mexico, USA, Venezuela
EUROPE – France, Great Britain, Russia, Spain
ASIA/AFRICA/OCEANIA  – Indonesia, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand
WILDCARD PICKS – Guyana, Israel, Panama, Puerto Rico
